Red Ken

Will be interesting to see how Ken Livingstone runs his race.

Can’t imagine he’ll run on a “change” platform when he’s spent years in City Hall.

Seems that his only play right now is that he will protect London from spending cuts… but will tell everyone how he’ll do this until after the election. What’s more, although he’ll most certainly go after Johnson’s ties to Cameron, dismissing the mayor’s claim that he’s independent from the government, this is a lot easier said than done. Johnson has really stuck his neck out on issues such as immigration, causing Cameron a major headache.

Again, although the election is well over a year away, it’s really hard to see how Livingstone – a politician that Londoners have seen for decades – can successfully convince the electorate that his “fresh” approach is the right one.
